CokeKnife is an American composer and producer of gritty East Coast instrumental Hip-Hop music, who shines a spotlight on the deeper issues that plague society. His work brings listeners on a subjective journey through the sketchy parts of town, in an almost documentarian approach, while the underlying message remains one of positivity, potential, and resilience.

With a deep respect for pioneers of the genre, CokeKnife makes it a point to never forget the past, but to instead build upon it. He blends concepts from Hip-Hop history with personal life experiences, in an effort to produce intriguing musical collages, reminiscent of the original, honest, unapologetic attitude of the 90’s.
The human element is a big part of any CokeKnife production. This is made evident by the purposefully sloppy sample chops, distortion and off-grid programmed percussion; meticulous and intentional, while at the same time embracing the beauty in imperfection and the wisdom of mundanity.
Inspired greatly by KRS-One’s insight, RZA’s determination, J Dilla’s confidence, Madlib’s curiosity, MF DOOM’s artistry and Blood of Abraham’s fearlessness, CokeKnife strives to add value to the culture and leave a legacy in accordance with the founding principles of Hip-Hop.
